Below is a note from US EPA regarding the Future...
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is currently reviewing our public outreach strategy with the goal of improving opportunities for robust discussions on the issues associated with the investigation and the cleanup at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL).
This is an opportune time for this review as US EPA is ending its role as facilitator and sponsor of the quarterly Inter-Agency Workgroup meetings. In line with the comments that Director Raphael shared with you at the November PPG meeting, we want to ensure our entire outreach effort considers the needs of the entire community and uses the community's time wisely and efficiently while enhancing communication and participation. As we do this we will all move forward toward meeting our common goals of fully carrying out the Administrative Orders on Consent (US Department of Energy and NASA), and the 2007 Consent Order (Boeing) to and clean up the entire SSFL.
Because we are still in the process of reviewing our efforts, we have postponed the February 15 Inter-Agency Workgroup meeting. We hope to have more information to share with you soon.
